Gingerbread Stories Comparison

This is a week long Gingerbread Stories Comparison Unit. Students will read the original Gingerbread Man book on the first day and each day will read a new version of a Gingerbread story. During this whole group activity, students will review characters, setting, refrain and the ending.

Gingerbread books you will need:

• Gingerbread Man by Gail Yerril
• Gingerbread Girl by Lisa Ernst
• Gingerbread Boy by Richard Egielski
• Ninjabread Man
• Gingerbread Cowboy

What's included:

• Digital anchor chart (print in Adobe for poster size) OR project on your screen to trace onto anchor chart paper
• Title, characters, setting, refrain, and ending cards for anchor chart for each book - save you TIME during whole group instruction
• Digital anchor chart of venn diagram
• 4 practice pages of venn diagram comparison of books
• Beginning, middle, end whole group cards for each book
• 5 BME practice pages for each book

How to Use:

• Read original Gingerbread Man book on Monday -review characters, setting, refrain and ending. Incorporate independent practice pages afterwards as extension if time allows
• Each day, read a new version and fill out anchor chart together as a class
