THIS IS THE SPANISH VERSION OF THE LABELING UNIT. The lesson plans are still in English but the anchor charts, notebook covers, directed drawings, parent letters, hats, rubrics, etc are all in Spanish. I have included an editable option in a PowerPoint Document if you need to tweak the wording.
Below is what is included:
This is a four week labeling unit to help kindergarten writers become confident in their labeling and sentence structure skills. Kindergarten students will learn how to label phonetically by listening to the sounds they hear and towards the end of the unit practice writing a sentence with their labels.
This unit sets kindergarten students up for success for writers workshop for the year. Students are given intensive instruction focusing solely on labeling their pictures. Often, we rush into the writing process which causes student frustration. This unit works on the skill slowly and creates a positive writing environment for all learners.
What's included:
- 4 weeks of lesson plans
- Note home to parents in phonetic spelling to explain kindergarten writing
- 16 directed drawings: house, apartment, townhouse, castle, school, farm, beach, mountain, park, playground, airplane, train, dog, cat, fish, baby
- 5 digital anchor charts (characters, setting, what is a label, sentence stems, and writers checklist)
- 10 addition labeling worksheets for students who need to solely focus on labeling (without drawing a picture) or additional practice for all students.
- Editable Rubics
- Celebration hat for end of unit
How to Use:
- Refer to daily lesson plans which contains materials and mentor texts that you will need.
